"PandaMania: Where God is
Wild about You" was the theme of this year's Vacation Bible
School, co-sponsored by First Lutheran and St. Paul's Episcopal
Church, August 8-12. There were 20 children in the program, many
from the neighborhood. Many thanks to all who donated their
time, money, materials, snacks and energy!

Bishop Robert A. Rimbo of
the Metropolitan Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of
America led the Lutheran and Episcopalian Ascension Day service
on June 2. Participating churches included: First Evangelical
Lutheran Church, St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Christ
Episcopal Church, St. Paul's Episcopal Church, St. Andrew's
Episcopal Church and Iglesia La Virgen de Guadalupe
(Episcopal).

Evangelical Lutheran Church presented a handmade blanket to
Rosemary Compton on the occasion of her graduation from
Roosevelt High School. Rosemary will be attending Florida Tech

On Sunday, November 21,
First Lutheran honored four of its members for their many years
of service to the church. They are: (left to right): Theresia
Kizina, Marianne Wolff, Eunice Merte, and Norma Connors.
Our 2010 Oktoberfest celebration. A wonderful time was had by all!!
Our 2010 Vacation Bible School was a great success, with 20 children participating. The children made a blanket which was
sent to Rwanda through Lutheran World Federation.
Our annual trip to a Renegades game on July 15, 2010. Even though the Renegades lost (after leading for most of the game), we had a great time!

salutatorian of the Class of 2010 at F.D.Roosevelt High School, Hyde Park. Christian, who is a member of First Lutheran, will be attending
Cornell University in the fall.
God has a beautiful garden at First Lutheran, and He is ably assisted in its maintenance by Shirley Mowell, pictured above. Thanks, Shirley.
